Hydralisk Rush - by Grasshoppa
This strategy is a Hydralisk rush. Well, it's not much of a rush, but it suffices to call it as such. Note that this strategy depends on not being rushed, so you will fall early to a zergling/zealot rush.

1) Make all available initial 9 food units into drones.
2) When the 9th one is being built, 150 minerals is available. Use this on a Spawning Pool.
3) Use your extra food unit to build another drone.
4) Turn the next available 50 minerals into an Extractor. When it is done, put a drone on it.
5) Make that available food unit into a drone.
6) Start to make an Overlord when you have maxed out your food capacity, and have 100 extra minerals.
7) Once you have 50 gas, make a Hydralisk Den.
8) The next two drone should *both* be evolved into Evolution Chambers.
9) Keep producing a bunch of drones.
10) Look for an expansion. Expand immediately if close to you.

Now the tricky part. After you have plenty of drones, you want to balance building Hydralisks, Overlords, and more drones for your expansions. You also have to save up for the upgrades. Basically, if you build a few Hydralisks, then upgrade needles, a few more Hydralisks, upgrade carapace, a few more hydras, a few drones, etc..., then you will have a massed a small force of Hydralisks quite quickly. Once you have all the drones you need at your second base (and don't forget the second Extractor), then you can really start pumping out Hydralisks, with the occasional overlord.

Something to remember: To upgrade Hydralisks to level 2, you need a Lair. To upgrade to level three, you need a Queen's Nest-->Hive. I usually build them about half-way through the upgrade process so they are ready when the upgrade is complete.
